Vibratory Finishing

We offer vibratory or mass media finishing services to improve the surface finish of components after shot peening. Vibratory or mass media finishing is a step after shot peening. It can be done to remove unwanted burrs, smooth sharp edges and providing a polished finish typically on turbine blades.

• Ceramic media has a relatively high density, and it’s used for grinding and polishing hard metals such as steel, stainless steel and titanium.
• Plastic media typically has a polyester base. Plastic media is generally used for “softer” metals, such as aluminum.
